Abstract: At present, China’s pig breeding industry is developing rapidly into intensive and large-scale. Under the overlapping influence of many factors, such as shortage of breeding land, epidemic of major animal diseases like African swine fever, and increasing pressure of environmental protection, the three-dimensional multi-storey building intensive pig raising mode has gradually become the current and future development direction of pig breeding industry. The three-dimensional multi-storey building intensive pig raising mode has the characteristics of saving land, safety, environmental protection and easy management, which opens up a new way for the healthy and sustainable development of the pig industry. In this paper, the development status and trend, advantages and characteristics, technical points and existing problems of intensive pig breeding model of three-dimensional multi-storey building were reviewed, in order to provide a new direction and reference for the development of pig breeding industry in China.
