Abstract: Taurine is one of the most abundant free amino acids in mammalian reproductive system and plays an important role in the reproductive development of female mammals.In this paper, the effects of taurine on estrus, ovulation, fertilization and pregnancy in female mammals and the related regulatory mechanisms were reviewed in order to provide theoretical basis for the application of taurine in animal reproduction and human health.
