Abstract:
In order to investigate the egg-laying pattern of parental generation breeding hens of Qingyuan partridge chickens, a flock of 7 696 parent breeders of Qingyuan partridge chickens was selected for the study. The number of eggs laid was recorded every day from the first week to the 38 th week of laying week since the start of laying, the cumulative number of eggs laid during the 38 weeks was counted, and the average weekly egg production rate and cumulative number of eggs laid were calculated.Three nonlinear mathematical models, Wood, McMillan and Yang-Ning, were used to fit the average weekly egg production rate curves of Qingyuan partridge chickens from 1 to 38 weeks since the start of laying, and three mathematical models, Logistic, Gompertz and Von Bertallanffy model were used to fit the curve of average weekly cumulative laying number. The results showed that the fitting degree of the average weekly egg production rate of parental breeders of Qingyuan partridge chickens was the highest in Yang-Ning model(R~2=0.985), followed by the McMillan model(R~2=0.938), and Wood model was the worst(R~2=0.786),and the expression of Yang-Ning model was Y(t)=82.931 e
-0.011t/1+e
-1.245(t-3.485). The three mathematical models, Logistic, Gompertz, and Von Bertallanffy, could well fit the total number of eggs laid by Qingyuan hens, and the fitting degree was 0.989 and above, especially the Von Bertallanffy model had the highest fitting degree(R~2=0.998),and the expression of Von Bertallanffy model was Y(t)=231.899(1-0.793 e
-0.053t)~3. The results indicated that Yang Ning model could be used to predict the weekly egg production rate of parental breeders of Qingyuan partridge chickens, and Von Bertallanffy model could be used to predict the cumulative egg production of parental breeders of Qingyuan partridge chickens.
