Abstract:
N6-methyladenine(m6 A), as an important RNA epigenetic modification method, is widely distributed in the genome of eukaryotes and has been proved to play an important role in cell differentiation, gametogenesis, fat deposition and tumorigenesis. With the rapid development of next generation sequencing(NGS) and single-base detection technology, a large number of m6 A modified regulatory proteins have been identified, and the corresponding regulatory mechanism has been further analyzed. In this article, the discovery and characteristics of m6 A, regulatory enzyme systems, detection techniques, main biological functions, and research progress in poultry were reviewed, in order to provide theoretical support for subsequent m6 A studies and applications of m6 A methylation modification in poultry.
