Abstract:
Avian influenza is an avian infectious disease caused by the Avian influenza virus(AIV), which has caused huge economic losses to the poultry industry. AIV may produce new mutated strains and subtypes due to antigenic drift and antigenic transformation, so avian influenza is a worldwide avian infectious disease that needs to be paid more attention to. Virus-like particles(VLPs) can self-assemble into protein particles with a structure similar to natural viruses, which are easy to be recognized by the immune system, but have no genetic material and high safety, which is a new direction of vaccine preparation. Avian influenza VLPs are protein particles composed of AIV protein, which can simulate the outer surface of AIV and show strong immunogenicity. Therefore, the vaccine made through avian influenza VLPs has the advantages of non-infectious, stable and easy to inactivate, and is a potentially safe vaccine candidate for avian influenza vaccine. The author reviewed the research and development foundation of VLPs vaccine for avian influenza, structural proteins related to vaccines, and universality, advantages, and disadvantages of vaccines, in order to provide theoretical reference for the development and prevention of avian influenza vaccine in the future.
