Abstract:
In order to understand the effects of Guiqi Yimu oral liquid residue on the growth properties, slaughter performance, serum biochemical and immune indexes of Hu sheep, sixty 3-month-old healthy Hu sheep were randomly divided into the T0.5 group, T1.5 group, T3 group, and T4.5 group. The animals in the control group were fed with the basal diet, and the animals in the T0.5 group, T1.5 group, T3 group, and T4.5 groups were fed the basal diet supplemented with 0.5%, 1.5%, 3.0%, and 4.5% Guiqi Yimu oral liquid fermented residue, respectively. The experimental period was 95 d. After the experiment, the final weight of each group of Hu sheep was measured, and the average daily gain, average daily feed intake, and feed to weight ratio were calculated. Three sheep in each group with similar level to the same group were selected for slaughter performance and meat quality of Hu sheep were measured. On the last day of the expriment period, blood samples were collected from all the remaining Hu sheep, and serum were separated for detection serum biochemical and immune performance indicators of Hu sheep were measured. The results showed that compared with the control group, the final weight, average daily gain, live weight before slaughter, carcass weight, slaughter rate, and eye muscle area in the T1.5, T3, and T4.5 groups were significantly increased(P<0.05), while the feed to weight ratio was significantly decreased(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the pH value, drip loss rate, brightness, redness and yellowness of eye muscle, as well as the mass concentration of total protein, albumin, globulin, and concentration of glucose and blood urea nitrogen in serum among the experimental groups(P>0.05). The concentrations of triacylglycerol, cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol in serum of Hu sheep in the T1.5, T3 and T4.5 groups was significantly decreased(P<0.05), and the concentration of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol was significantly increased(P<0.05). In the serum of Hu sheep in T1.5, T3, and T4.5 groups, the mass concentrations of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-1β(IL-1β), interleukin-6(IL-6) and interleukin-8(IL-8) were significantly decreased(P<0.05), while the mass concentrations of immunoglobulin A(IgA), immunoglobulin M(IgM), and immunoglobulin G(IgG) were significantly increased(P<0.05). The results indicated that the growth performance, slaughter performance and immune performance of Hu sheep could be effectively improved by adding Guiqi Yimu oral liquid fermented residue to the basal diet. Considering the feeding cost, it was recommended to add 1.5% Guiqi Yimu oral liquid fermented dregs to the basal diet of Hu sheep.
