Abstract:
Urtica is a kind of annual or perennial herb with tall plants, wide distribution and high nutritional value, and its crude protein content is comparable to that of alfalfa. It can not only be used as forage grass in livestock and poultry breeding, but also in pharmaceutical, chemical, textile and other fields, with wide functions. The active ingredients, pharmacological effects, antibacterial effects, types and effects of organic acids in the metabolites of nettle, as well as its feeding value for pigs, chickens and ruminants were reviewed by the author, in order to provide a theoretical basis for the comprehensive understanding of the physicochemical properties of Urtica and its development and utilization in the field of animal husbandry.
