Abstract:
To understand the influence of internet use on beef cattle farmers’ s utilization of manure resource, based on the field survey data of 270 beef cattle farmers in Jilin Province, this study used propensity score matching method to analyze the impact of internet use on manure resource utilization and its mechanism. The results showed that only 28.9% of farmers used the internet to obtain information about the manure resource utilization. Beef cattle farmers who used the internet to obtain manure resource utilization information were 75.80% higher than those who did not use it. Using the internet could significantly promote the manure resource utilization behavior of beef cattle farmers. The higher the education level and the larger the breeding scale of beef cattle farmers, the more active the adoption of waste resource utilization behavior. The use of internet to promote beef cattle farmers to adopt manure resource utilization behavior mainly stemed from two ways: broadening the information access channel and improving the awareness of environmental protection. The thesis proposed to strengthen the use of internet skills of farmers, improve relevant policies and laws and regulations, and provide equipment technical support and other related policy suggestions.
