Abstract:
To investigate the effects of Lactuca indica L.Qiandong on growth performance, meat quality and serum immune index of Pingba gray geese, in the experiment, a total of 180 45-day-old female Pingba gray geese were divided into 3 groups with 3 replicates per group and 20 geese per replicate. The diet in the experimental group was supplemented with 10%(test group A) and 20%(test group B) Lactuca indica L.Qiandong, respectively, while the control group was fed the basal diet. The experiment lasted for 45 days. The growth performance, meat quality, and serum immunity of the geese were measured at the end of the test period. The results showed that there were no significant differences in the final weight and average daily feed intake among all groups(P>0.05). The feed-to-weight ratio in the test group A was significantly lower than that in the test group B and the control group(P<0.05). The average daily weight gain in the test group A was significantly higher than that in the test group B and the control group(P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the pectoral muscle meat color, leg muscle color and leg muscle shear force among all groups(P>0.05). The pectoral muscle shear force in the test group B was significantly higher than that in the test group A and control group(P<0.05). The pH value of pectoral muscle in the test group A was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05), and the pH value of leg muscle in the test group B was significantly higher than that in the test group A and the control group(P<0.05). The levels of IgG, IL-1 and TNF-α in the test A and the test B groups were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). The levels of IgA in test B group were significantly higher than those in the test A and the control group(P<0.05).There were significant differences in IgM mass concentration among all groups(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in IL-2 concentration among all groups(P>0.05). The results indicated that the addition of 10% Lactuca indica L.Qiandong grass meal to the diet of Pingba gray geese could significantly reduce the feed-to-weight ratio and improve the average daily weight gain and immune function.
