Abstract:
In order to verify the clinical effects of Chinese herbal compound in the treatment of latent mastitis in camels, Angelicae Sinensis Radix,Forsythiae Fructus,Taraxacum mongolicum Hand.-Mazz,Tetrapanax papyriferus,Houttuynia cordata Thunb,Violae Herba,Rheum officinale baill,Chuanxiong Rhizoma,Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma and Crocus were formulated into Chinese medicine compound according to a certain proportion. Then 40 lactation latent mastitis camels aged 4 to 11 years with 3 to 10 gestating times were randomly divided into 4 groups(high dose group, medium dose group, low dose group and control drug group) with 10 peaks in each group. High dose group, medium dose group and low dose group were administered 3, 2, 1 L of traditional Chinese medicine compound(1 L contains about 100 g of traditional Chinese medicine compound), respectively. The camels in the control group were given 500 g of Gongying powder per day. The animals could drink water freely, and the treatment period was 7 d. The blood physiological and serum biochemical indexes of each group were measured before treatment and on the 7th day of treatment period. The somatic cell count and daily milk production of each group were measured before treatment, on the 7th day of treatment period and on the 30th day after starting treatment. The clinical effect of each group was analyzed. The results showed as follows: compared with the data before treatment, the number of white blood cells in the middle dose group on the 7th day of treatment period was significantly decreased(P<0.01), which was within the reference value range. There was no significant change in the number of white blood cells between the high dose group and low dose group with the control group on the 7th day of treatment period(P>0.05). The number of red blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit and platelet were all within the reference value range before treatment and on the 7th day of treatment period, and the changes were not significant(P>0.05). All serum biochemical indices were within the reference value range before treatment and on the 7th day of treatment period, and the changes were not significant(P>0.05). Compared with the data before treatment, the somatic cell count in milk of all groups decreased to various degrees on the 7th day of treatment period, among which that in the medium dose group was extremely significantly decreased(P<0.01), and that in the high and low dose groups and the drug control group was significantly decreased(P<0.05), but did not recover to the healthy level, and that in all groups was extremely significantly decreased(P<0.01) and recovered to the healthy level on the 30th day after starting treatment. Compared with that before treatment, the daily milk yield in the medium-dose group was significantly increased(P<0.05) on the 7th day of treatment period, but did not recover to the healthy level, however, there were no significant changes in high dose groups, low dose groups and drug control group(P>0.05). On the 30th day after starting treatment, the daily milk yield in the high and medium dose groups was extremely significantly increased(P<0.01),but there was no significant change in the low dose group and the control group(P>0.05). The cure rate in the medium dose group was 90.00%; the cure rate in the high dose group was 70.00%; the cure rate in the low dose group was 50.00%, and the cure rate in the control drug group was only 40.00%. The results showed that under the conditions of this test, 2 L of Chinese herbal compound taken orally every day had the best clinical effect on the treatment of recessive mastitis in camels.
