Abstract
An 11-year-old Jingba male dog with no history of cryptorchidism exhibited hair loss, abnormal urination posture, and dripping urine. The dog had fought with other dogs when it was 3 years old, and then the dog’s testicles swelled but no treatment was performed; the testicles returned to normal a few days later. The diagnosis was made by comprehensive medical history, clinical symptoms, blood biochemistry, imaging examination and histopathological examination. The results showed that the dog had testicular sertoli cell tumor with blood cachexia. Because of the older affected dog and the limited treatment effect, the owner decided to give up the treatment and took it home to rest. A few weeks later, the dog collapsed and died. The results suggested that in addition to the history of cryptorchidism, factors such as mechanical damage can also induce canine sertoli cell tumors, which often accompany the development of blood cachexia. It was recommended that dogs with a history of testicular damage should be checked regularly for early detection and timely treatment.
