Abstract
In order to evaluate the effectiveness of gamithromycin injection, 60 Chinese Holstein dairy cattle suffering from respiratory diseases in this experiment were randomly divided into 4 groups, 15 in each group, respectively with low dose group of gamithromycin(3 mg/kg body weight),medium dose group(6 mg/kg body weight),high dose group(9 mg/kg body weight),and tilmicosin control group(10 mg/kg body weight),and were administered by subcutaneous injection, for the screening test of effective dose of gamithromycin injection. Another 60 Chinese Holstein dairy cattle suffering from respiratory diseases in the experiment were randomly divided into 2 groups, 30 in each group, respectively with the gamithromycin injection group(the dosage was determined according to the effective dose screening result),and the tilmicosin injection control group(10 mg/kg body weight),for the effectiveness evaluation test of gamithromycin injection. The clinical manifestations(breathing, mental state, body temperature) of the tested cows were observed during the experiment, and the changes of parameters such as cure rate, recurrence rate, inefficiency and mortality rate were counted after the experiment. The results showed that the cure rate was 86.67%,93.33% and 80.00% in the high, medium and low dose gamithromycin groups, and the cure rate was 93.33% in the timicoxacin injection group. The better cure effect was achieved in the medium dose group, and the recommended dose for gamithromycin injection was 6 mg/kg according to body weight. In the effectiveness test, the cure rate and ineffectiveness of the gamithromycin injection were 86.67%,10.00% respectively, and the cure rate and ineffectiveness of the timicoacin injection were 83.33% and 13.33% respectively. The results suggested that gamithromycin injection had a good clinical effect in the treatment of bovine respiratory diseases caused by Pasteurella multocida at a dose of 6 mg/kg body weight, and slightly better than that of the timicoacin injection.
