Research progress of Wnt signaling transduction pathway in stem cells

  • Stem cells, as the seed cells of regeneration, are involved in almost all fields of regenerative medicine. In recent years, with the continuous development of stem cells and regenerative medicine, stem cell technology has been applied in many areas such as xenotransplantation, tissue regeneration, and cell reprogramming. The regulatory mechanisms of stem cell proliferation and differentiation are similar to those of somatic cells and can be regulated through cell cycle control proteins and cell growth factors to modulate the growth cycle of stem cells. Selective inhibition or activation of these signals will enhance the research on the regulation of stem cell proliferation and differentiation. This article reviewed the progress of Wnt signal transduction pathway in stem cells, in order to provide reference for stem cell development, differentiation and proliferation regulation.
