Abstract:
Connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) is a secreted protein that regulates cell proliferation, differentiation and growth. In order to investigate the existence of single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) in ctgf gene and its correlation with early growth traits in Takifugu rubripes, the early growth traits of body weight, body length and total body length of 893 T. rubripes individuals at the age of 2 months were measured in this study, and the SNPs of ctgf gene were screened. The association analysis was conducted using the least squares method. The results showed that there were 14 SNP loci in the ctgf gene, among which C23 T, G39 T and C270 G loci were missense mutations, and the amino acids encoded were changed from threonine, leucine and alanine to methionine, phenylalanine and glycine, respectively. The correlations were found between the C23 T, G39 T and C270 G loci with the early growth traits in T. rubripes. The body length of CC genotype individuals at the C23 T locus was significantly higher than that of CT genotype individuals(P<0.01). The total body length of TT genotype at G39 T locus was significantly higher than that of GG genotype and GT genotype(P<0.05), and the body weight and body length of TT genotype were significantly higher than that of GG genotype and GT genotype(P<0.01). The total body length of CG genotype individuals at C270 G locus was significantly higher than that of CC genotype individuals(P<0.05).These results provide references for the selection of early growth traits such as body weight, body length and total body length and molecular marker assisted breeding in T. rubripes.
