Study on Elemental Chlorine-free Bleaching Properties of Kraft Pulp of Acacia Wood Species

  • Pulping and bleaching performances of 4 wood species(Acacia auriculiformis Willd.,A. mangium Willd., A. crassicarpa and A.aulacocarpa)were studied and the properties of these pulps were compared. The results showed that the screened yields of these kraft pulps were from 46.95% to 50.95%.By using elemental chlorine-free(ECF)bleaching, all these bleached pulps had high ISO brightness and high physical properties,the brightness of these pulps could be bleached from 86.0% to 89.2%, ISO;on 30°SR beating degree, the tensile indexes of these bleached pulps could reach from 55.8 to 60.7 N·m/g.The comprehensive kraft pulping potentials of these wood species were summarized that A.uriculiformis is the best one, A. mangium and A.aulacocarpa are in the middle,and A. crassicarpa is the worst.
