Abstract: Almond is a well-known nut and oil production species.This article summarized the world-wide research progress in variety breeding,ecological and biological characteristics,physiological and biochemical analysis,cultivation,genetics,cloning,etc.The differences in genetic research among Europe,America and China were analyzed.The situation for exploiting almond resources in Xinjiang was evaluated,and the evaluation of prospect for developing almond was put forward.
