Abstract: This paper analysed the response of hybridization of individual trees of Populus ussuriensis and P.suaveolens collected randomly from the same provenance.The results showed that there were significant variation among individual trees within P.ussuriensis or P.suaveolens in morphology,biology and genotype.There were significant differences in the compatibility,growth and phenology of F: of individual trees within P.ussuriensis or P.suaveolens and the same male hybridization.In this study,satisfactory results were achieved from the immature seeds in vitro culture.
