Abstract: The efficient utilization of water resources has been an important task in agricultural development and resource utilization in recent years. With the gradual improvement of agricultural infrastructure construction in China, agricultural irrigation is gradually transitioning to a high-quality water-saving model. Canal optimization and pipeline construction provide good guarantees for reducing agricultural water resource waste. In order to better promote the popularization and application of water-saving irrigation in agricultural production in China, the role and current development status of water-saving irrigation should be clarified, and combined with national policy support, the application ideas of key technologies of water-saving regulation irrigation and water fertilizer co application technology should be explored, creating favorable conditions for the construction of high standard farmland and promoting high-quality sustainable development of agricultural production.
