Abstract: In view of the shortcomings of traditional textbooks, this paper puts forward the idea of using the vocational competency model to guide the development of textbooks, and introduces the specific steps and methods of textbook development. At the same time, the characteristics and advantages of loose-leaf textbooks and the practical experience of applying loose-leaf textbooks in CNC majors are discussed. Through the investigation and research of practical application, it is concluded that the loose-leaf textbook can improve students’ interest in learning, promote students’ independent learning and strengthen practical operation ability. Finally, the development trend and application prospect of loose-leaf textbooks in future education are pointed out, in order to provide a useful reference for the reform of CNC professional education.
