Abstract: In context of new agricultural science construction, in order to cultivate new talents who know and love agriculture, it is urgent to create a new mode of talent cultivation．Farming and reading education is a key link to implement moral education, and is of great significance to enhance students' literacy and professional practice ability of learning agriculture, knowing agriculture and loving agriculture in agriculture-related higher vocational colleges．Importance of constructing model of cultivating students through farming and reading was analyzed, and problems existing in current farming and reading education were discussed．Taking Yangling Vocational and Technical College as an example, "five integration and five strengthening" farming and reading education model were proposed from perspective of farming and reading education model construction in agriculture-related higher vocational colleges, in order to improve quality of new talent cultivation and provide a model for other agriculture-related higher vocational colleges．The aim was to improve quality of new talent cultivation and provide reference for construction of farming and reading education model in other agricultural-related institutions．
