Yield and quality comparison experiment of new mini-pumpkin varieties for facility cultivation in Weifang City

  • To promote pumpkin industry healthy development in Shandong Province, new mini-pumpkin varieties suitable for facility cultivation in Weifang City, Shandong Province were selected and bred.A comparative facility experiment were matched on 15 new pumpkin varieties developed and screened by pumpkin research team at Weifang Academy of Agricultural Sciences.Comprehensive analysis was performed based on growth period, fruit traits, yield, and quality.Results showed that WF10 and WF9 were early to medium maturity with excellent quality and high yields.Their yields reached 30916.6725861.11 kg/hm2, respectively, yields 27.49% and 6.64% higher than control varieties Huihe Beibei, respectively.They were suitable for facility cultivation in Weifang City.Follow-up production experiments and variety identification will be conducted next.
