Abstract: This paper studies the reform path of practical teaching in local colleges under the background of emerging engineering education. Taking Jilin Agricultural University as an example, the author gives the connotation of the ability of emerging engineering talents training, and combines the school’s own conditions and characteristics, determines the new talent training program according to the connotation of the ability, carries out reform of personnel training mode and organizational, and improves the assessment criteria for practical teaching. Practice shows that the reform program has achieved good results. This paper can provide reference for the practice reform of local colleges and universities.
