Abstract:
Using the mixed OLS model, based on the panel data of 17 cities in Henan Province from 2012 to 2021, this paper empirically analyzed the impact of digital inclusive finance on rural residents’ consumption in Henan Province. The research results showed that digital inclusive finance has a significant positive impact on the improvement of rural residents’ consumption level in Henan Province. In terms of secondary indicators, the coverage breadth, depth of use and digitization degree have a significant positive impact on the improvement of rural residents’ consumption level in Henan Province. The impact of the development of digital inclusive finance on subsistence consumption is less than the positive impact on the enjoyment of development consumption. Digital inclusive finance can optimize the consumption structure of rural residents and promote the upgrading of consumption structure. Based on the above research conclusions, it is suggested that financial institutions should design digital financial service products that are more suitable for rural residents, while the government and the financial industry should strengthen the training of financial knowledge and skills for rural residents, and improve the coverage breadth and use depth of digital inclusive finance.
