Abstract:
In order to verify the sterilizing effect and safety of 0.2% curcumol bait, 0.2% curcumol bait were applied at the dosage of 1.5 kg/hm~2 in the rodent control area in Jilin Province. One month after the application, the species and number of rodents were investigated with night trapping method. After that, the investigation was made every two months for 3 times. Female rats were dissected to observe the pregnant indexes and calculate capture rate and control effect. The results showed the female pregnancy rate and litter size decreased and the proportion of sub-adults reduced. The control effect on population density increased with the time. No abnormal phenomena were found in the natural enemies, human beings, livestocks, poultry and other non-target animals. So the bait was safe in application and had obvious effect in sterilization and control of rodent pest in the farmland, forest and grassland. It could be popularized in large area.
