Abstract: Cultivating students’ creative ability is helpful for students to combine their major knowledge, use their brain to think, develop their major ability and achieve high-quality employment after graduation. For the cultivation of students’ creative ability, it is one of the important issues for the educators in colleges and universities. This paper analyzes and discusses the new requirements of the construction of the new engineering course on the students’ creative ability, the analysis of the students’ creative ability level in the local universities, and some considerations on improving the students’ creative ability based on the background of the new engineering course, we hope that through our research, to improve the creative ability of students to make contributions.
