Abstract: Meteorological short video can effectively enhance people’s awareness of meteorological disaster prevention and control,improve the level of meteorological service, and is widely used in disaster prevention and reduction because of its flexible and vivid,simple production and rapid dissemination. There are still many deficiencies in the application of meteorological short video in disaster prevention and reduction, especially in the production of meteorological products, consideration of audience needs, multi platform push and so on. This paper expounds the application role of meteorological short video in disaster prevention and reduction in detail, and puts forward some effective application strategies of meteorological short video in disaster prevention and reduction from the aspects of meteorological science popularization, release of disaster early warning information, enhancement of interaction between audiences and real-time weather release.
