Abstract:
In view of the scarcity and non-renewable of peat resources, the effect of different substrates on the growth of celery seed‐lings was studied by using the decomposed straw of traditional Chinese medicine for celery seedling cultivation and making a reason‐able proportion with other materials. The test results show that:T
1(Astragalus membranaceus straw+10%Hermetia illucens fecal complex matrix),the plant height and crown width were significantly higher than other treatments, compared with T
8,the plant height increased by 63%,the crown width increased by 53%,the water content was 9.80%,and the germination rate and germination potential were slightly lower than T
8,but there was no significant difference.T
7(Astragalus membranaceus straw substrate),com‐pared with T
8,the germination rate and germination potential were higher by 4%,7%,5.63%and 5.6%,compared with T
8and T
8,but the plant height and crown width were lower than T
8.The electrical conductivity of each treatment in the test is within the range of normal plant growth. The experiment found that the decomposed straw of traditional Chinese medicine can be used for celery seed‐ling cultivation.T
1treatment,namely,the compound substrate of Astragalus membranaceus straw+10%Hermetia illucens fecal com‐plex matrix, can effectively improve the growth status of celery seedlings, and has the potential to be used as a substrate for celery seedling cultivation.
