Abstract:
Drought stress is one of the important abiotic stresses affecting the growth of cucumber seedlings, and exogenous application of γ-aminobutyric acid(GABA) plays an important role in improving plant resistance. Therefore, in this study, a two-factor completely randomized design was used to investigate the effects of leaf spraying γ-aminobutyric acid on drought tolerance of cucumber seedlings. The results showed that leaf spraying γ-aminobutyric acid significantly improved the growth inhibition of cucumber seedlings under drought stress, increased plant height, chlorophyll content, fresh weight of shoots and roots, and increased the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD), peroxidase(POD) and catalase(CAT) in cucumber leaves and roots to resist drought stress.
