Construction of Crop Leaf Area Detection System And Its Detection Effect

Leaf area index（LAI） is an important plant information, physiological characteristic and physical parameter. This paper aims to design a set of fast image acquisition system and leaf area measurement system. Using Python and Open CV to accept and process the image, the leaf area can be quickly measured. The experimental results show that the measurement errors of Roberts operator and Scharr operator are within 3%. When the distance between the mobile phone and the target is 300 mm, the measurement error is more than 5%;when the distance is 400 mm, the measurement error is between 5% and 3%; when the distance is more than 500 mm, the error is stable and less than 3%. At the same time, the measurement of the area of the blades with different shapes is simulated by the geometrical images of different shape, and the error is less than 5%. So it can meet the application of the measurement of the leaf area in most cases.
