Abstract:
In this study, the effects of different fermentation materials and seed-soaking with different concentrations of biogas slurry on germination and growth of lettuce seeds were studied. The properties of fruit and vegetable waste, corn stalk, cow dung, kitchen waste and their biogas slurry after anaerobic fermentation were analyzed, and the biogas slurry concentration was diluted at 1%,5%,10%,15%,20%,25%,30%,40%,50%,70%,100%.And, the experiment of seed germination was carried out with theses biogas slurry as culture medium and seed-soaking liquid respectively. The results showed that there were some differences between different fermentation materials and biogas slurry.Only 1% concentration of biogas slurry could promote seed germination to a certain extent when biogas slurry was used as culture medium, while seed germination was inhibited when the concentration was greater than 1%.In addition, the optimal concentration of biogas slurry of kitchen waste, biogas slurry of fruit and vegetable waste and biogas slurry of cow dung and corn stalk were 20%,5% and 25% respectively when biogas slurry was used as seed-soaking liquid. When soaking seeds with undiluted biogas slurry, it was found that the longer the soaking time was, the lower the germination rate was. Therefore, the appropriate soaking concentration and soaking time should be selected according to the composition of biogas slurry.
