Abstract:
In this study, the seeds of Sophora tonkinensis were used as experimental materials to select the best way of seed disinfection and the best condition of seed germination, and the effects of different concentrations of CaCl
2 solution on seed germination were also investigated. The results showed that the treatment with 2% sodium hypochlorite for 20 min was the best disinfection method and the germination in filter paper at 25 ℃ under dark was the best germination condition. And, the germination rate of seeds decreased with the increase of CaCl
2 solution concentration, and the water content of germination seeds decreased with the increase of CaCl
2 solution concentration. The content of soluble sugar and malondialdehyde increased with the increase of CaCl
2 concentration, while the activities of catalase, peroxidase and superoxide dismutase also increased with the increase of CaCl
2 concentration, indicating that the osmotic stress was mainly caused by CaCl
2 solution treatment.
