Abstract:
To investigate the effects of graphene oxide(GO) on plant growth, the Amorpha fruticosa, a common soil and water conservation tree in northern China, was selected as the experimental materials to determine the indexes of seed germination and seedling growth of A. fruticosa and these indexes were evaluated comprehensively by membership function method by soaking A. fruticosa seeds with six groups of GO solutions with different concentrations(0, 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 mg/L, respectively). The results showed that low concentration of GO significantly promoted the seed germination and seedling growth of A. fruticosa. Compared with the control group, the seed germination rate of A. fruticosa treated with 50, 100 and 150 mg/L GO solution increased by 14%, 22% and 23.33%, respectively, and plant height increased by 1.05 cm, 2.09 cm and 1.03 cm. On the contrary, GO inhibited the growth of A. fruticosa seedlings significantly and the dry weight of seedlings in treatment group decreased by 0.88 g compared with control group while the concentration increased to 250 mg/L. The analysis results of the effects of GO on seed germination and seedling growth of A. fruticosa were as follows 100 mg/L>150 mg/L>50 mg/L>200 mg/L>250 mg/L.
