Abstract:
In this paper, the suitable germination conditions of Belamcanda chinensis seeds were investigated by the statistics of seed potential yield, viability, inhibitory germination and germination under various treatment conditions, and the range of seed tolerance to NaCl stress was also explored. The results showed that the water permeability of B. chinensis seed coat was good, and seed viability did not decrease significantly in 2 years under natural storage conditions. The extracts from the seed coat had significant inhibition on the germination of pakchoi seeds, and the germination rate and germination potential of B. chinensis seeds were significantly increased after diurnal temperature and stratification treatments. The convenient treatment method suitable for germination of B. chinensis seeds was as follows after 30 days of low-temperature stratification, germination was conducted at 25 ℃(8 h)/15 ℃(16 h) day and night. In addition, the concentration of 0-200 mmol/L NaCl solution had no significant effect on the germination indexes of the seeds, while the germination index of seeds decreased significantly with the increase of stress degree when NaCl concentration was above 300 mmol/L. The threshold and limit values of NaCl stress concentration were 337 mmol/L and 457 mmol/L, respectively.
