Abstract:
To study the difference in seed characteristics of Periploca forrestii from different populations, the difference in seeds morphology(100-grain weight, seed shape and size), seed vigor and germination characteristics of the seeds from different populations were determined in this study. The results showed that there was no significant difference in seed morphology among different populations; the seeds from Kaiyang(H 1) had the largest size, and the seeds from nursery of Guizhou University of Chinese Medicine(H 4) had the smallest size; the seeds of 100-grain weight from Kaiyang were heaviest and fullest. The optimal conditions for seed vigor were as follows: TTC concentration 1.0%, dyeing for 8 h, dyeing temperature 25 ℃. Further, the correlation analysis showed that germination potential and germination index were all extremely significantly positively correlated with germination rate(p<0.01); and germination time delay was significantly positively correlated with germination rate(p<0.05), while germination rate was significantly negatively correlated with mildew rate and water absorption rate(p<0.05). Based on the analysis of various indicators, the seeds from the two populations of Wuchuan County(H 3) and Xixiu District(H 9) could be developed and utilized as the wild high-quality germplasms of P. forrestii.
