Abstract:
In order to clarify the cytological characteristics of the chromosome in the andromonoecious plants, the root tip and pollen mother cells as test materials were studied. The results showed that the karyotype formula was 2 n=2 x=8 m+12 sm(2 SAT), the length ratio of chromosome was 2.67, and its karyotype belonged to the type of 2 B. The meiosis of pollen mother cells of andromonoecious plants showed that the proportion of bivalents in metaphase I was 97.65%, and that of tetravalents was 2.35%. Chromosome sticking and incomplete pairing bivalents occurred during meiosis. Lagging chromosomes and chromatin bridges were observed during the transition from metaphase I to anaphase I.
