Abstract:
In order to identify, classify and evaluate waxy germplasm of Coix lachryma-jobi, the contents of total starch, amylose and amylopectin in Coix lachryma-jobi resources were detected, and waxy resources were classified according to amylose content. The comprehensive evaluation was carried out by observing agronomic traits and dyeing verification. The results showed that the average content of total starch in 56 materials was 66.01%, the maximum content was 72.11%, the minimum content was 60.22%, and the coefficient of variation was 4.33% with less difference. The average amylose content was 12.06%, the maximum content was 28.78%, the minimum content was 1.26%, and the coefficient of variation was 70.81% with significant difference. The average amylopectin content was 54.01%, the maximum content was 69.29%, the minimum content was 40.42%, and the coefficient of variation was 15.39% with some difference. 12 of them were Ⅰ-high-quality waxy resources, 9 of them were Ⅱ-waxy resources, 12 of them were Ⅲ-intermediate resources and 23 of them were Ⅳ-non-waxy resources. The results of identification and classification were verified by observation of agronomic traits and rapid staining with iodine reagent. The waxy germplasm could provide breeding materials for varieties selection of waxy Coix lacryma-job L..
