Abstract:
In order to screen out the salt-tolerant maize varieties suitable for planting in saline-alkali soil, 41 maize varieties were selected as experimental materials and NaCl of 60,120,180 mmol/L was used to simulate the salt stress environment, the indexes of germination and seedling stage of 41 maize varieties were determined. The salt tolerance of maize varieties was comprehensively evaluated by weighted membership function and cluster analysis. The results showed that 180 mmol/L NaCl could be used as a suitable salt concentration for the identification incluing salt tolerance of maize at germination and seedling stages. The four indexes including seedling dry weight, seedling fresh weight, root fresh weight and root dry weight were the most closely related to the salt tolerance of maize varieties, which could be main indexes for screening and identifying maize varieties with salt tolerance. According to the weighted membership function and systematic cluster analysis, 41 maize varieties could be divided into 5 grades: high salt tolerance, moderate salt tolerance, salt tolerance, moderate sensitivity and high sensitivity, among which there were 6 high salt-tolerant varieties, namely, Nongfu 99, Wugu 568, Xuanhe 8, Zhengdan 958, Simon 3358, Xinyu 81.
