Abstract:
In order to explore the hybrid seed production method of two lines of millet, the effects of parent-row ratio and parent-plant height difference on seed production yield of six millet hybrids were studied. The results showed that combination 1, combination 2, combination 3 and combination 6 had the highest seed production yield when the ratio of male to female of restorer line was 2∶6, and combination 5 had the highest seed production yield when the ratio of parent to female of sterile line was 2∶4. The correlation analysis of yield components showed that seed production yield was positively correlated with row ratio. The analysis of plant height difference between parents of hybrid showed that plant height difference from 30 to 50 cm was beneficial to pollination and increase seed production yield, so the height difference of parents when selecting hybrid parents should be paid attention.
