Abstract:
To explore the phenotypic traits and their degree of variation of different varieties of Hippophae rhamnoides berries and seeds in the western Liaoning region, descriptive statistical analysis, significant difference analysis, correlation analysis, and cluster analysis were used to analyze phenotypic traits of different varieties of Hippophae rhamnoides berries and seeds. The results showed that the hundred berries mass was from 27.08 to 73.18 g, longitudinal diameter was from 6.51 to 14.07 mm, transverse diameter was from 6.81 to 9.16 mm, length of stalk was from 2.00 to 4.77 mm. The 1 000 seed weight was from 10.84 to 22.77 g, and the three indexes of seed length, width and thickness were from 4.01 to 7.04, from 1.99 to 2.87 and from 1.40 to 2.07 mm, respectively. The coefficient of variation of 11 personality indexes was from 8.84% to 26.56%. The hundred berries mass of Hippophae rhamnoides had extremely significant or significant positive correlation with longitudinal diameter, transverse diameter, berry shape index, stalk, 1 000-seed weight, seed length and seed width. Through cluster analysis, 20 Hippophae rhamnoides varieties could be divided into 3 categories, namely, small berry Hippophae rhamnoides, medium berry Hippophae rhamnoides and large berry Hippophae rhamnoides. The large berry Hippophae rhamnoides could be subdivided into large berry type seabuckthorn and large seed type of Hippophae rhamnoides.
