Analysis on the Components of the Extract from Pugionium dolabratum Seed and Its Effect on the Seed Germination of the Chinese Cabbage Pugionium dolabratum

  • The organic solvent extraction method was used to isolate and biodetermine the endogenous substances in the seeds of Pugionium dolabratum, and the composition and content of the endogenous inhibitory substances were analyzed by gas chromatography mass spectrometry(GC-MS). The results showed that the germination percentage of Chinese cabbage and non-dormancy seeds was inhibited by the extracts of dormancy seeds and non-dormancy seeds of Pugionium dolabratum, and the inhibition of the extracts of dormancy seeds was greater than that of non-dormancy seeds. Each organic phase was obtained from the seed extract of Pugionium dolabratum, and the inhibitory effect of each organic phase on seed germination was ethyl acetate phase=methanol phase > ethyl ether phase > aqueous phase > petroleum ether phase, indicating that these inhibitory substances mainly concentrated in ethyl acetate phase and methanol phase. The results of organic phase separation and identification showed that the endogenous inhibitors in the seeds were mainly esters, benzenes, organic acids, phenols, ethers and alcohols. It was concluded that the existence of these inhibitory substances was one of the reasons for seed dormancy.
