Screening of Seed Aging Resistance of Forty-four Maize Varieties

In this study, Forty-four maize hybrids were subjected to aging stress using the method of high temperature and humidity, and aging resistant maize varieties were screened. The results showed that the germination indexes of different maize seeds decreased to varying degrees after aging stress, and there were obvious genetic differences. The average germination vigor and germination rate after aging were 65% and 77%, respectively, which were 6% and 18% lower than the control, respectively. The relative germination vigor variation range was from 9% to 98%, with an average of 75%, and the relative germination rate variation range was from 13% to 100%, with an average of 81%. Based on the comprehensive analysis results, 5 anti-aging maize hybrids were screened out, including Xianyu 335, Jiyu 619, Jinyuan 15, Bixiang 809 and Fumin 105.
