Research on Quantitative Taxonomy about Flower Color Phenotypes of 30 Oxalis obtusa Cultivars

  • In order to fill the gap in the research on the quantitative taxonomy of flower color phenotype of Oxalis, the color difference of 30 Oxalis obtusa cultivars was measured by colorimeter, and cluster analysis was carried out. The results showed that using the cluster analysis method, the color of Oxalis obtusa could be divided into five major color series: pink series, purple series, yellow series, orange series and white series, among which the pink series had the largest number of samples. The study found that Oxalis obtusa varieties were rich in flower color, and the difference in flower color of Oxalis obtusa varieties was comparatively significant. On the whole, the lightness and chroma of Oxalis obtusa flower color were negatively correlated, and could be divided into two groups on the two-dimensional coordinate system. The first group was yellow, and the second group was other color systems. The flowers of the white were relatively scarce resources in Oxalis obtusa, and were important germplasm resources in the future hybridization and breeding of new varieties.
