Analysis on Metabolomics Differences of Qianhuo No.1 During Seed Germination Based on Different Water Content Substrates

  • The effects of water on seed germination of Qianhuo No.1(Epimedium sagittatum) were studied, and the changes of related metabolites and metabolic pathways of seeds at different germination stages under different water content in seedling medium were detected. The metabolic pathways and metabolites of Qianhuo No.1 seeds during germination under different water content in seedling medium were analyzed by using broad-target metabolomics method. The results showed that when the water content of medium was 200%, it was favorable for the seed germination of Qianhuo No.1. When the water content of the substrate was 100% and 200%, the metabolites during seed germination had similar changes, mainly including amino acids and their derivatives, sugars, flavonoids, alkaloids, etc. The different metabolites were significantly enriched into arginine and proline metabolism, sphingomyelin metabolism, flavonoid biosynthesis and other pathways. Under the water content of 200% and 100%, the relative contents of dihydrojasmonic acid and cinnamyl cinnamate increased first and then decreased with the time of seed germination, which could be one of the reasons for promoting seed germination.
