Abstract
In order to investigate the drought resistance and quality characteristics of five new potato(Solanum tuberosum) strains, the physiological and biochemical indexes of each strain were determined and the drought resistance was evaluated. The results showed that with the increase of drought stress degree, plant height and stem diameter decreased, malondialdehyde and soluble sugar contents increased, CAT increased first and then decreased, POD and SOD activities of JWS-1, JWS-2, JWS-3 and JWS-4 increased, and JWS-5 increased first and then decreased. The results of drought resistance coefficient, drought resistance index and comprehensive drought resistance membership function evaluation showed that the new strains JWS-2 and JWS-3 had strong drought resistance. JWS-2 and JWS-4 with starch content were above 18%, JWS-1 and JWS-4 with reducing sugar content were below 0.2%, and JWS-1, JWS-2 and JWS-5 with vitamin content were above 20 mg/100 g. A new strain of drought-resistant starch processing JWS-2, a new strain of potato chip processing JWS-4, and two new fresh food strains JWS-1 and JWS-5 were selected.
