Abstract: Biodiesel is a kind of clean and renewable energy. This article introduces the material and heat balance calculations which can be used in equipment size and dimension design for a 500 t/a pilot plant. The calculations introduced in this paper can also be used to estimate the values of energy consumption in each working procedure,and to provide the corresponding parameters for production line design and the thermal load parameters for making the right selection of equipment types.
