Abstract: Agricultural Mechanization and automation is a major of agricultural engineering and there are 42 schools that offer curriculums to undergraduate students in China.This paper compared courses of agricultural mechanization and automation major between South China Agricultural University（SCAU）and Kansas State University（KSU）.The proportion of basic courses,major basic courses and professional courses in the education program are analyzed,and the characteristics of their respective training purposes,knowledge structure and major features are compared.The course structure reflected the knowledge,ability and skill needs of different stages of agricultural mechanization development in the two countries.This study can provide ideas for reform on major curriculum and teaching.
