Abstract: In addition to the basic functions of traditional packaging, intelligent packaging is also able to reflect the freshness of products to consumers in real time. With the change of people’s lifestyle, the application scope of intelligent packaging is expanding. In this paper, we reviewed the development status of intelligent packaging at home and abroad in recent years, focusing on the development and application of four different types of intelligent packaging, including pH indicator, time temperature indicator, gas indicator and RFID tag. Finally, the application prospect of intelligent packaging industry is prospected, and it is believed that under the background of the rise of e-commerce, intelligent packaging has great development potential in the fields of food, medicine,modern logistics industry and new retail.
