Abstract: In agriculture production of mountainous orchards in South China,human labor power plays very important role in the transportation of agricultural materials and fruits.It leads to low production efficiency and great labor intensity.The effects of mechanized transportation during production are increasingly important.The self-propelled electric monorail transporters in mountainous orchards,which have been developed by the research team of Division of Citrus Mechanization,China Agriculture Research System,are introduced in this paper.The key technologies and experience for extension and application are provided respectively.3 suggestions to improve the mechanization level of orchard transportation are put forward,which include improving orchard construction standards and standardization of equipment technology,and understanding of new agricultural machinery by fruit farmers.
