Abstract: This paper analyzed the import and export trade data of agricultural products in China and the sales data of geographical indication products in the European Union, and expounded the practical needs of China to strengthen the international protection of geographical indications and domestic legislation to promote the export of geographical indication products. This paper discusseed the practical value of high-level protection of geographical indications from the perspective of the experience of China-EU agreement on geographical indications on the path of protection of geographical indications in China and the realization of common prosperity. This paper analyzes the problems existing in the protection of geographical indications in China, such as overlap of laws and regulations, low level of legislation, strong passivity of legislation, and decentralization of institutions. Put forward the plan to set up a geographical indication industry federation, improve the quality and create value with the help of industrial parks, build an open agriculture, compile the“Geographical Indication Protection Law”and other measures to promote the protection of geographical indications of agricultural products.
