Design and Parameter Optimization of Continuous Mechanized Cassava Peeling Machine

Abstract
Cassava peeling is the most important process of many cassava products. It is difficult to meet the production requirement because of its high cost and low efficiency. Therefore,a kind of peeling machine is designed, which can work continuously with the assistance of feeding machine. In order to optimize the parameters, the cassava length, diameter and the rotation speed of the screw axis were taken as the factors affecting the peeling effect, the acceptance rate, the broken rate and the weight loss rate of cassava were taken as the evaluation indexes. The orthogonal test method was used to carry out this experiment. The results showed that the degree of influence on the acceptance rate was screw axis rotation speed, cassava length and diameter from big to small; The influence degree of the broken rate from big to small is cassava length,diameter,axis rotation speed;and the influence degree of the weight loss rate from big to small is cassava diameter,axis rotation speed, cassava length.After optimization, the optimum operation parameters were 10 r/min of screw axis rotation speeds, 10 cm of cassava length and over 60 mm of cassava diameter.
